Review of the Apple iPhone 14 Pro

Apple’s Pro category of iPhones, all of which cost well over Rs. 1,00,000, must go above and above in a world where even sub-Rs. 20,000 Android phones can do pretty much all the typical person may require. Each iteration must represent a significant technological development, or at the very least seem modern and stylish.

Apple’s new iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max follow a similar approach, in that they don’t provide any groundbreaking features and don’t have significantly different designs, but they do offer a few improvements that might sway you to upgrade if you haven’t in the past.

Even now, the only accessories included are a Lightning cable and a SIM eject pin; there is no charging cable or headset included. If you want a USB Type-C charger with 20W or greater power, you’ll have to shell out extra money, since the one included with your earlier iPhone won’t work as fast.

The Dynamic Island, which Apple claims was built using a mix of hardware and software capabilities to optimize the usage of the relatively large camera hole, is the most notable new feature. Although the Android community has been eager to attempt imitating Apple’s new feature, it’s clear that no other firm has ever considered doing anything like this before, and they may not be able to reach the same degree of integration. The new screens on the iPhone 14 Pro siblings are the most noticeable upgrade. The notch, although easily recognized, has become old-fashioned, and Apple has now done away with it.

As a result of its complete command of both hardware and software, Apple is able to improve animations using anti-aliasing and create a home screen that seems to “flow” around the device. Moreover, the idea is quite original and exciting, which is especially impressive given how similar most smartphones now are in appearance.

The “island” is really rather huge and inconvenient, even when left blank. There is a thick band at the top of the screen that does nothing except take space, similar to the notch since content and controls in most applications must start below it. It took some time to get accustomed to the island’s presence while using certain applications, and when the screen was expanded to fill the display (but without status symbols), video and various games appeared all around it.

Features and updates for the iPhone 14 Pro

Even while Apple places a lower priority on specs than it formerly did, consumers still have an interest in learning about the inner workings of their gadgets. All configurations of the and iPhone 14 Pro include 6GB of RAM, while the new A16 Bionic SoC is exclusive to this year’s Pro iPhones. However, according to independent teardowns, this model’s batteries have a 4,323mAh capacity.

About battery life

The only information provided about battery life is a time estimate (up to 29 hours of local video playing for the two versions). The charging rate is also unknown, but is estimated to be 27W, which is far slower than the standards set by Android devices today. The LTPO OLED screen of the Super Retina XDR display, which measures in at 6.1 inches, allows for a resolution of 1179 x 2556.

The Power and Ease of Use of the New iPhone 14 Pro

It’s no surprise that the 120Hz screen on the iPhone 14 Pro makes everything seem silky smooth. iOS 16 is quick to respond, has smooth animations, and will not slow you down.

There are many preloaded programs, some of which you may never use. Fortunately, almost all of them can be uninstalled. The one negative aspect of regular usage was how long it took to charge.

The iPhone 14 Pro doesn’t offer anything really revolutionary. It’s really just an improvement over the previous version, with some new features like the always-on display and the Dynamic Island.
